Another two months, another step for SimHoop!
As of last night I have completed cleaning (referencing player names, checking position, and confirming heights and weights) up through the 2006 NBA season – a season that weighs heavily in the heart of this Dallas Mavericks fan.
This DB Project has been quite an endeavor – a back-breaking juggernaut that began over two years ago! However, the end is near and I only have six more seasons until I can start conducting crazy experiments with all of this data.
Sorry there’s not much to say here, but I had to check in and keep you all updated on this amazing, but slow, progress!

Curious, what do you plan to use your giant database for when you are done? Any plans in creating your own sim program?

I’ve got a few ideas up my sleeve about the database … but I’ve been trying my hardest not to think too much about them until I finish (1.5 seasons left at the time I write this). And, yes, creating a simulation program is one of those ideas but that will be further down the road. Thanks for the interest!
